Any thoughts on 6.0.1.8531 compared to 6.0.1.8522?
For me build 8531 is quite a bit better than 8522

Same here, I can't get rid of the ICEpower service, even after uninstalling the HDA driver. And I can't seem to find it either with RAPR.
I guess you have to get rid of the ICESound registry entries in Registry Editor (Run regedit.exe with full administrative privileges). Locate the following registry key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\ICESoundService
    Delete this key and reboot.
Also Realtek HDA driver may be installed thru HDXRT4.INF file, which could be listed in RAPR. That INF file mentions the ICESound files but not HDXRT.INF.

That is why I decided to switch to UAD drivers for good on a friend's ASUS board, which don't install the ICEPower files & ICESound registry entries. they're only required for certain ASUS laptops that do really support it.

nice to see 8531 HDA driver listed in MUC

I have now, and still nothing. Just keep getting 'Something unexpected happened' with Error Code: 0x803FB005. Hope someone has some ideas, I really don't want to have to consider buying an actual soundcard for my new PC.. Haven't needed one of them since the Athlon/Pentium days..

Uninstalled existing drivers, rebooted, unzipped the CAB, then selected that dir to install the drivers for the device. Checked after to make sure it was using 8522.

Looking at Google results for that error it seems common from the MS Store.

It's a generic code, cause MS doesn't like giving people specific errors lol
Which is why I'm hoping someone here has the solution
