I just spotted version 6.0.1.8265 on the MUC.

However it's a bit strange as it's listed as 64-bit only but looks too small at 65.7 MB in size.
@Brink not worth putting on the first page at the moment. I'll check it out later today.

    Microsoft Update Catalog
Thank you. Appears to only be servicing drivers right now.

    Creative use their own technology.
That's what I thought but reading someone talking about using Realtek drivers with Creative just sounds strange. I use to run the Advanced Gravis UltraSound (GUS) mailing list and even though the GUS is 20+ years old, it was still better than the Realtek.

Yes, it's best to forget about version 6.0.1.8265. Nothing there that is relevant to most of us here.
@CountMike let us know what version you are receiving. Could be Network drivers.

Now you are in trouble. Once MS pushes updates you are forced to get them or get a external sound card. I went with the external sound card because WU and Realtek pushed bad sounding drivers. All I wanted was to use the branded MS drivers but no once WU gets them it is a game of wack a mole to try to block them.

Looks like one of their LAN (note the Net, and going by that version number format) drivers to me.

Yeah, that's a Network driver, not related to audio.

I get the ones I want manually, then block video and audio drivers via GPEDIT.MSC.
    1. Get the Hardware ID from Device Manager > *Your device* > Properties > Details Tab
    2. Run > gpedit.msc >> Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > System > Device Installation > Device Installation Restrictions >> Prevent installation of devices that match any of these devices IDs: enabled > show > add the Hardware IDs

    Example, my Realtek Audio is:
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182&REV_1003
    HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0892&SUBSYS_1458A182
