I'll delete my original link as well.

I mentioned in my original post that the filesize was very small.

I've noticed the company is listed as Huawei Device Co., Ltd, and not Realtek.
The above reason (my quote) is why I think most people were having problem with the latest update.

As a matter of personal interest I just unpacked the .cab file and had a read of the .inf. Even that doesn't look good and it's definitely an Intel specific driver but it looks as though the inf has been taken from a combination of 64-bit and 32-bit drivers.

Normally they have two versions on there, one which is about 65Mb and another that is about 137Mb which is the 64-bit one. This wasn't the case this time around.

Be advised they will shut you out again if they know public has access. I wanted to upload the newer drivers but I'm too lazy so I'm sharing this instead.

Went ahead and made an account.
Realtek does not typically post newer drivers on that FTP any more. The ones they are typically putting on the FTP now have not been signed either. (which requires a shiz ton of work to get those to run, not worth the effort)

Honestly what would make me ecstatically happy is if someone could point me in the right direction for getting an updated version of that Sonic Studio plugin. It appears that ASUS has version 3 locked to specific motherboards.

I had installed version 3 somehow one of the times I was trying to install drivers but it was only the GUI (it wasnt functioning as version 2 was still installed as well).

Is there a thread somewhere about getting a more up to date version of that sonic software? I know it can cause crashes with older versions, but realtek audio sounds like crap without the sonic studio turned on. You have to turn the volume WAY up if sonic is off.

I wish we could actually get change logs for these drivers.

I already had this info, thanks. But, doesn't posting it publicly here defeat your point? To quote: “Be advised they will shut you out again if they know public has access”... ???
