My friend are you saying that i should change the driver from 6.0.1.8470 to 6.0.1.8480? and i will able to fix the problem? sorry i am not a expert on this.... thanks for the help
Literally, I didn't mean anything. The sound listening is a very subjective issue. Most likely your hardware issue if you tried various drivers & still not working. Who told you that your hardware is good? The technician? I'm guessing is capacitor plague on your motherboard or any leaking. By the way, you also didn't list your rig specification & did you change the audio cable or try different speaker, earphone or etc.?
FYI, they won't change your motherboard without charging even your warranty still valid. Don't be such a fool.

Try this R2.82 & if still not working, then return your laptop. (Guess)

Hi. Thanks for your help my friend. Yes my asus is still in the warranty, and this is the second time that I send it for repair...first time because of the fan... was doing some weird noises, they fixed, and is perfect... second time because of the sound problem... so before sendind the 2 time I try all the sound drivers... after speak with asus support they told me to send again... after receiving the second time they format my computer and they told me that they change the motherboard... thats why I said... with the headphones I have the same problem... left speaker almost mute and some cracking sounds...
I already fill up the rig specification...
    Thanks for the help

6.0.1.8475 shows as "Driver Model: Realtek High Definition Audio(SST)"

I guess this isn't the traditional generic driver?!
nope. Microsoft has not yet posted a 138Mb or 140Mb sized version of 8475.
8470 is the latest "traditional" drivers from MUC so far that is about 138Mb.

Microstar International (MSI) has recently updated the Realtek UAD audio drivers to 8480 for those using modern MSI boards & laptops (lucky MSI users ) [UAD] [UAD with Nahimic 3]

hah and Microsoft (not MSI) does not even have 8480 yet on MUC (maybe later on in July)

    This.

Waiting for the non-SST driver from Realtek for 1803 to appear on MCU.

How do I manually update the driver? I downloaded the CAB file and moved it to a new folder in Program Files (x86), and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to put the whole file there or just extract its contents there, so I moved both to be sure. But when I opened Device Manager, chose to update the Realtek High Definition Audio driver, and browsed for it in the new folder, I couldn't find anything there except a couple folders.

I also couldn't download that Realtek Audio Control. It kept saying it couldn't install it, and it would try again shortly, before the same popup would appear.

Since you mention a .cab file, I'm presuming you have downloaded the update from Microsoft Update Catalog? If so, once you save the cab file, create a new folder anywhere on your PC. Now open the cab file and extract the contents into that new folder. Then go to Device Manager, right-click on Realtek High Definition Audio, Update Driver Software..., then Browse my computer, then Browse and choose that new folder you created. Click Next and it should start updating.

Thanks, it says I already have the best drivers, so I guess it didn't change anything. In any case, I'm still having this problem with the sound playing at a much higher volume than what I have it set to whenever starting or unpausing music and videos.

I'm not sure what else I can do at this point.

    Hello again!

After a few months I thought I would give patch 1803 another chance to see if they've fixed my Realtek Virtual Surround issue.

My current problem is the following:

I've downloaded the realtek driver 6.0.1.8475 from the first post and when I try to set my connected device to a headphone the Realtek HD Audio audio manager does not save my change and gives me the following error: "This device type is not supported!"

I'm using a HyperX Cloud headset connected to the motherboard directly and in older drivers I can select headphone without any issues.
