    Hi,

Didn't Intel offer software to do just that ? Could be that only worked with Intel SSD though.

Wouldn't you obtain better performance overall by installing the OS on the Samsung drive instead of using it as a cache ?

    Cheers,

The fact is that I'd like to boost also software loading, and 64GB are a bit too little much .

    Hi,

Fair enough. My sotware demands are quite a bit more modest.
I cram everything onto a 20 Gb partition with no probs whatsoever.
No swapfile, hibernation disabled. The usual set of tricks.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

    Cheers,

Maybe I got the acceleration working. Now it boots up in 25 seconds, the same time that I got with fastboot enabled, but.. fastboot now is disabled! Without SSD acceleration and withouth fastboot it booted in more than one minute. I guess this is finally working.
If I fixed, I did it disabling the acceleration, then making the SSD available at normal usage (formatting also, in NTFS), then I deleted the whole SSD (I mean all its partitions), then enabled SSD acceleration using Intel Rapid Storage software.

So that's all the proceedement I did:
-Downloaded latest 8.1 compatible driver for z68 from here Downloads for Intel RST)
-Extracted it and installed the x64 version in compatibility mode to "older version of Windows"
-Downloaded this ****NEW**** Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) Version 14.6.1.1030 WHQL - Guru3D.com Forums (Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) Version 14.6.1.1030) and installed to make it extract in a known folder
-Opened device manager to install manually the driver for the SATA RAID controller choosing the folder where I extracted the driver mentioned one step earlier
-Disabled SSD acceleration and made SSD available for normal usage, then erased SSD (please note that I use advanced mode, not the expanded, so I losed only the cache, no data loss, erasing the SSD) and enabled SSD acceleration back.
Hope this will help someone that has troubles with z68 and RST on windows 10.

EDIT: The acceleration is turned on, yeah, but doesn't give any boost.
EDIT2: I made it! Now it works! I extracted this Intel RST) RAID Driver
and installed it! Now it works!
Please note that I've the system on a 120GB SSD, and I'm using another 60GB SSD to accelerate a 3 terabytes hard drive. To check the perforamances of the hard drive I used AS SSD benchmark.

    Greetings My friends.

Could you please Help me to reactivate IRST ? I need to add ssd disk on ISRT and volumes.

I like to Reactivate IRST After a disk formating on my Dell 14z-5423. I do not even have the ssd disk in the IRST app neither in Disks. (I can see on Windows devices on Storage devices as Intel Chipset RAid)

Could you please help me to reactive or add in the IRST and Disks

    Here 3 screens about it:

    Hi,

I made the mistake in installing most recent RST on an older Intel S3200SHV Server board with Intel® 82801IR I/O Controller, evidently all hell broke loose as i got spinning dots at reboot. In order to address the issue I set the controller to IDE after unplugging one of the drives. I did some research and apparently version 10.8.0.1003 is the latest one that would work with this legacy controller, can anyone please confirm this and if so, how can i go back to my RAID setup if the server no longer boots when set to RAID (Latest RST has already been uninstalled).

    Your suggestions are greatly appreciated
