    Colormunki Display Problems

Hey folks, just updated to Windows 10 and the only software not working correctly is my monitor calibrator. If I do the full monitor calibration process through the software, it works fine, but the ambient monitoring function which should notify or alter the monitor brightness does nothing?? Even if I right click on the tray icon and select 'ambient monitoring', it goes through the process but nothing changes.

Can anyone help in any way? Being a photographer this is make or break to whether I keep Windows 10 which I actually really like!

    Many thanks, Brian

I have had a Xrite i1 Display2 for a number of years but Xrite has never updated the software or drivers ( that's what you get for buying a closeout deal on Amazon :) ) but BlueEye Pro and other software worked fine under Win7 , upgrading to Win 10 meant that that software wouldn't work properly either ( I don't use the ambient feature though) but recently I found DisplayCal, and I am impressed , it is OpenSource Donation-ware , but I feel like it is what Xrite's gimped software should always have been.

Just be sure read the FAQ and to follow the instructions to load the Argyll Drivers , so your device is recognized in DisplayCal if needed

That's great, thank you! I'll give this a look tonight and see how it goes.

This problem really should have an easy fix but even Xrite themselves appeared clueless when I contacted them. I'd really like to know what is stopping the ambient measuring feature from working!!! It worked flawlessly on Windows 7 :-(

Xrite claims that software version 1.1.1 for the ColorMunki Display was tested to work under Win 10, both x86 and x64.

    Any comments?

I think for Smiddit , it was only the ambient light feature not working but my i1 Display2 is much older , latest available version iMatch software is 3.6 and you need latest 7.0 to work in Win10 but DisplayCal works nicely , give it a try it is freeware, donate if you like it after testing. It is very through .
