Yes...this is normally possible. But for mine, the latest update is more than 2mb, so there is an error about it being the wrong file size, so Q-Flash is not possible. Must be done using @bios or within the OS.

Can you load a fresh copy of Windows on a spare drive long enough to get your BIOS flashed?

I have a new SSD on its way. Ill just start over there and then upgrade the bios as soon as I get Windows 7 installed. See how that goes....if the 'fix boot' doesnt work.

Holy crap. I used the dis in the link you gave me and it took me to a desktop and I can see the entire contents of the primary disk. So, guess that means the cables are fine. It also me as I can backup the oneset of photos that I forgot to do a week ago. Man...this is going to save my ass even if I can't get the drive to boot. Thanks a ton!

Unfortunately, the 'fix boot' did not get this thing to boot. I dont understand. I can see teh disk and everything on it. All bootable things Ive done have shown the disk. The disk checks out OK on SeaTools. Why wont the GD thing boot?

Glad you got those pics backed up! I don't know why it won't boot, except for perhaps the BIOS update. Maybe a fresh install on your new drive will sort things. Sorry.

    OK. WERE IN!

I used that disk in the link and was able to install and use the @BIOS software. I installed the latest bios update, FH...and it booted. Ive loaded optimzed defaults but the system seems a little slow. Perhaps I had tweaked before, but before I install the software for that, I better use it for a few days and test stability as is.

WTF...I have no idea what flipped out. Thank you all for your guidance and support. Its appreciated and pretty clear that I wouldnt have gotten it if not for the help here.

    HAPPY DANCE!

So glad you got that sorted! Keep the BIOS at defaults for now. Go ahead and mark the thread as solved. Cheers!

Seriously. That disk was like a cornucopia of useful tools, that thankfully, I didn't have to get too far into but definitely was nice. Well done one that...very well done, indeed!

Keep it handy, and check his page for updates on a regular basis. Have Cortana remind you. It's pure gold.
