Synaptics touchpad V1.2 - no option for one-finger scrolling?

    Hello,

I recently bought a Lenovo Y700 running W10. I am trying to get it set up the way I like and cannot find an option to use one-finger scrolling with my touchpad (two-finger scrolling is an option and works just fine).

I am updated to driver 19.0.19.1, but for some reason when I go to Mouse Properties it lists the driver version as 19.0.17.26. I'm not sure if this is related. Here are some screen caps of the driver discrepancy as well as the UI for the mouse, which has no option for one-finger scrolling. How do I enable this?

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

I'm thinking that's on purpose. If you did that, how would you then move the cursor on screen? Single finger is cursor movement, two finger is scroll. It's a touch pad not a touch screen.

Er, well every Lenovo laptop I've ever owned uses 1-finger scroll along the right side of the touchpad...

Two finger scrolling really hurts my hand, for whatever reason. Hopefully someone will know how to get the 1 finger scroll back!

That only works if the touch pad has a dedicated scroll area down the side. As far as I know, new ones now don't, as they support gestures. The old ones didn't support gestures or any kind of two finger support. You'd have to install a really old driver, and I doubt even then that it would work.
