How to get a list of installed drivers?

Ok it appears from this post that the Driver name is the same for ACHI or RAID if you look just under the Blue Text
I.Newest/best Intel..... (see below or this link for more reading)

which explains why Pokee appears to be using iastorA.sys in AHCI too ....


A. Classical" Intel RST Drivers and their RST Software:
(Note: These 32/64bit Intel RST driverpacks contain just 1 single driver named iaStor.sys and are designed for Intel systems with a Southbridge from ICH7R/M up except X79/X99.)

B. Intel RST(e) Drivers from v11.5 up and their RST(e) Software:
(These Intel RST(e) driverpacks contain an AHCI/RAID driver named iaStorA.sys and additionally an SCSI filter driver named iaStorF.sys. They are designed for newer Intel chipsets except X79/X99.)

C. Intel RSTe drivers v3.x/v4.x and their RSTe Software (only for C600/C600+/C220 Series Chipsets like X79 and X99):
(Note: These real "Enterprise Edition" RST Drivers contain an additional SCSI Filter Driver like the RST(e) ones, but are just designed for Socket LGA 2011/2011-3 systems.)

yes it was the pic from the version 10 Driver that threw me , my Controller is always under Storage Controllers too so I thought they were different drivers when I compared his pic.

It made my original problem far worse. Files were loaded in spurts for about 30 seconds and then completely stopped. The program reported 52% of the files had been loaded. That did not change for another 30 seconds so I killed the program and rolled back the driver. In the Event Log I saw

I rolled back the driver.

Since I'm not using Raid, and was not using any removable drives at the moment, I decided this was not a good situation.

I installed driver 131.0.1058.
I got only 17% of the files loaded before they stopped loading.
No iastor errors, but but the 7040 error and the flood of 225 errors were there.
I rolled back the driver.

Just for grins I tried installing the 11.2.0.1006, but Windows said I was more current.

I'm not sure what to do now, but I've definitely concluded that the driver level can cause the file loading problem I've got. At the very least I can make the problem much worse.

If I was you I would join the WinRaid Forum and post the above info over there too , ( link it here too so we can follow), sounds like you need an expert or have something else going on. Re my earlier post don't force 11.2.0.1006 onto the system it may cause boot issues when downgrading drivers to versions below 11.5 , I just read at WinRaid.

Double click on it to get properties then the driver tab, driver details.

The latest driver is not always the greatest, if that's the only reason you are updating it, it really isn't necessary.

I'm sure that's all moot anyway, you seem to be experimenting with drivers.

I'm willing to try any driver that might work, but if Windows tells me that 11.2.0.1006 will back-level me, then 10.6.0.1002 would do that even more. I don't pretend to understand RTS vs RTS(e), but KBird repeated a warning I've seen elsewhere that going from an RST(e) level driver to an RTS level driver will render the system unusable. I'm using the default Windows driver, but it apparently knows how it corresponds to the Intel drivers.

you could try the 12XXXX series Driver and see if it works better than the 13XXXX series drivers eg the Intel RST(e) v12.9.4.1000 WHQLis a recommended one , may not help ,but worth a try while you wait for answers at WinRaid. Use the Have disk method perhaps and just install the drivers , no RST software.


@derekimo ...the Intel RST(e) v12.9.4.1000 WHQL is actually the recommended driver for your P67 by the looks of it ..... but you apparently don't have issues so ......

I wasn't recommending any driver, you said you couldn't find where it was in device manager and I offered a suggestion.
