    Yep, i knew this question would sound silly.
    But i really didn't know a mobo needs a CPU even for the most basic tasks such as lighting an LED.

    I'm still very noob and this is my first ever attempt of swapping a mobo. :P

    If i understood correctly, the CPU is actually required to close the circuit to make the network card work?

    The CPU and RAM are required to get the motherboard working which in turn will activate/control other features.

    the CPU is the brain of the PC... The other parts do not know what to do on their own, without the Brain telling them to do it..
