Dac magic plus not working after windows 10 clean install from 7.

I clean installed windows 10 from windows 7 May 23.2016. Since then I haven’t been able to get my DAC Magic Plus to work, which btw is the ONLY THING I REALLY LOVE ABOUT USING THIS COMPUTER MICROSOFT! I installed the driver 3.26 from Cambridge website. I added the upgrade file when it was sent to me, May 31st. The file itself appeared to do nothing, almost like it was empty. I even tried upgrading it from my desktop from the devices manager.

The strange thing is regarding my DAC PLUS since I clean installed Win 10 - is that it shows it installed everywhere and is the default sound option. Windows 10 also shows the driver is working and updated properly. It shows that the USB is connected to the DAC Plus and the DAC Plus appears in the windows tray. Sound from my computer my computer speakers works properly, when the DAC is turned off - BUT WHEN I TURN THE DAC ON, THE SOUND ABRUPTLY STOPS AND DOES NOT PLAY with any of my installed programs like Spotify. Lights are on the DAC Plus and the settings are correct (all the settings I had last time with 7) which are digital USB 2.0 settings are on and the DAC lights respond to test configuration, but no sound comes forth.

I’ve installed and uninstalled 3 or 4 times. I am pretty sure the driver is installed correctly. I opened the upgrade file you sent me and that appeared to do nothing. Almost like it was an empty file. I’ve unplugged and plugged it in numerous times. Reset it and so forth a dozen times. If you were to trouble shoot it like I’ve had Windows 10 techs do remotely three times (wasting at least 6 hours total this week) it looks like there is no problem. Except absolutely no sound out of the DAC. It was working perfectly in win 7 right before the clean install. I can’t even hear test sound or computer sounds, although there is indication of lights that it is there. My speakers are connected correctly and I hear a slight hiss or pathway of audio from speakers and amp but no sound from the DAC at all.

Most frustrating – I enjoyed my music so much through my DAC and it near broke me purchase it. I can’t believe it would have this much trouble to work with just clean installing win 10. I’ve tried the addendum for the DAC and made sure the USB was set for 2 out of my computer. Like I said the lights are on but no one is home. How could it have broken?

Just Checking with the manufacturer's site, there are a number of different drivers for windows 10.

In additions to the actual driver there is a Firmware update needed to be installed into the actual hardware to enable the system to operate correctly.

There are a number of downloads and downloadable .PDF instruction files to guide you through the options

By the way, We have never sent you anything

    Dac driver and firmware updated

I realize you haven't sent anything..that was my post to cambridge. I just didn't want to explain it all again. I just used it to see if anyone had any ideas since this happened only when i upgraded. I also have all the pdf's all the drivers firmware installed on my computer and everything the manufacture has sent me the driver and the firmware upgrade has not worked - thus that is why i am so frustrated. Unless there is some way I haven't done to upgrade the firmware properly? I unlocked the zip and applyed it via the device manager. what other way is there?
    Thank you
    Diana
