TC-- I have a thumb drive that's 16gb and a sd card that's 32gb are they big enough for now?
Peter, that Disk Management screenshot looks strange to me. Your D partition is labeled "Recovery", but you said it was empty. And it's listed twice in the upper panel, once with a NTFS designation, once as blank. Probably something left over or amiss from the Reset you did. For now, I don't think you should mess with it at all until someone else with more experience with this can help explain and advise a correct and valid solution.

Meanwhile.... forget the thumb drive for backup, way to small, among other things. It can be used for other things later.

The 32GB SD card you have can be used if it's empty, formatted correctly, and we use the proper software.

Put the SD card in your machine, go to MY PC, right click on the SD icon, click on properties, take a screenshot of the entire display. This will show me the data about your SD card and the space used and free on your HDD.

    We'll take it from there.

Thanks, Peter. Now, please do it again as I asked in the above post #721.

Put the SD card in your machine, go to MY PC, right click on the SD icon, click on properties, take a screenshot of the entire display. This will show me the data about your SD card and the space used and free on your HDD.

Your first screenshot does not have the properties display of the SD card, and I can't see the HDD. Full display screenshot, please. With the SD card properties showing and the HDD.

Thanks....see ya in about 3 hours......

Before you do your screenshot, right click on the san disk, find the word "properties" at the bottom, click on it and it will display another screen. Open the Snipping tool and click on the word "new". Place your mouse cursor in the top left corner. While holding down the left mouse button, drag the mouse cursor all the way to the top right corner, down to the bottom right corner, over to the bottom left corner, and up to the top left corner. Let go of the mouse button. Click the word "file" in the top left and save the screenshot. Post it.

Ok, Peter, let's do this differently. Just look at the screen of "My PC". Write down on a piece of paper the space FREE and the TOTAL space on the "C" drive, that's your main HDD, NOT the SD card. It will look something like XXX.X GB free of XXX.X GB. Post those numbers. No pics, just the numbers, you can just type them in the reply.
