ESET should cause no problems at all. Did you disable your Trend Micro first? Try that and see if it helps.
A clean install would install only the Operating System and the Apps that come with it. You would have to reinstall all software yourself and set up your accounts. You would need to back up all user files to an external source first. It would, in effect, give you a completely clean system without any programs you are now having to uninstall and get rid of.
At this point, I have seen nothing that would make a clean install necessary unless you would rather just start out clean and fresh. Most of what I have seen can be cleaned up, but it will take a lot of time and effort, much like a clean install. That decision is yours and yours alone. Without knowing what software you have installed and what malware there is on your current install, no one can say which is the best to do, other than the fact that a clean install is never wrong, just in a lot of cases not necessary.
Ok F14 Tomcat I crashed the comp. last night I had to go to safe boot to bring it up it took about 3.5 hrs to come back it took out the apps some other stuff but left the files and reinstalled windows I ran a malwarebyte again and it came back totally clean what more do you want me to do and I will do it
