New computer build - No speaker or headphones were plugged in

The title explains it all. I've built myself a new computer and when i connect my speaker to the back or front of the tower it says it's unplugged. I've downloaded the latest Realtek audio drivers and have no other ideas on what to do.

    Help?

What type of speakers, 2.0, 5.1 ? Assuming you mean plug the headphones into the front ? Sure connected wires from the case to the motherboard correctly for front audio.

Yep meaning also the wires in the case for front panel were connected correctly to the motherboard too ?
If the wires from the case are connected correctly to the motherboards Audio when you plug in headphones you have to go to Sounds and make it the default device to hear it. I never plugged speakers in this front jack usually marked Headphones. See in my pictures the headphone icon enabled but not set to default yet.

If you connecting headphones to the Sound device input then it will be within the Realtek software you make the switch, believe you using integrated sound device i would have to look again at the connections.

For speakers since only 2.1, Stereo Speakers plus a Subwoofer i assume, green connector is used for the Stereo Speakers and orange or black for the Subwoofer.

That depends on the brand of speakers jds63.

I've gor some Logitech stereo speakers which connect to the subwoofer then have only one lead which connects to the green connector.

True. Little we know here about the speakers, wires and if using a PCI sound device, the motherboard i looked it up to go by the integrated card.

Ran into a bigger problem. Woke up, pressed the power button on my case and got a blank desktop but the windows sign and all the other things at the bottom were there. Restarted my computer and got a black screen with a mouse cursor on it. Ive read up on it and seems theres quite a few people with this issue. Im unable to go to my bios screen as upon starting up my pc theres not boot screen or windows logo straight to the black screen with a moveable mouse cursor. Tried logging in and doing ctrl alt delete, all these other things and nothing worked... What do i do?

Or not, resolved this issue by letting it idle on that black screen, clicked the on and off button on my case it powered up!

This is what i get for my Realtek HD Audio Manager from the Control Panel. Also, I plugged in my microphone and its not being picked up either. Going to check the wiring now. But the mobo's mic and speakers should work as its not being plugged into anything.
