Windows 10 HP Officejet Pro 8620 Will not print

Just installed the HP Officejet Pro 8620 printer. Easy to set up from either the disk or online. It shows as “ready”and default on my ACER All in One using Windows 10 Connected wirelessly verystrong connection. Looks for all the world as if it is ready to print butno go. I'm not sure if it is the Windows 10 or the HP software. Iam using Vista on a Dell All in One--also wirelessly. It works great. The printer shows in my netwok. Made it the default. I haverun all the suggested HP utilities, uninstalled, reinstalled, shut down andunplugged. Everything I could find. Help!! I haveinstalled the software. I used the CD, I tried the website, and I usedthe HP link. I have worn out the HP helppages. I'm pretty sure the software is installed. When I useHP Print and Scan Doctor, it will not print a test page. However, canprint a print quality diagnostics page from the “maintain your printer” link. I cannot print anything else. It says ready and it shows as mydefault printer. When I send anything to print (includes MS Office 2016applications, website pages, PDF etc.). It doesn't give me any indicationof an error and there is nothing pending print. I've turned the firewalloff and on. I've uninstalled the printer and then tried by a simple"look for a printer". I always end up downloading the samesoftware without issue until I want to print a test page or anything else. Diagnostics page is it. Since the wireless connection on myhome network works great with my old Dell All in One with Vista, I have come tothe sad conclusion that it has something to do with Windows 10

I have the same exact issue with my HP 8620. Were you able to resolve your issue?

Try uninstalling everything associated with the printer in Features & Programs

In Device Manager - do the same for the devices, remove any associated with the HP printer
Answer yes (or check the box) to remove software

    Disconnect the printer
    Cold start the machine

    Connect to the Internet

    Connect the printer
    Turn on the printer

Run Windows Update manually and let it update the HP device(s)

    When everything is up-to-date

Cold start the machine one more time

Thanks but would that work if the 8620 is connected via ethernet? How would windows recognize that it is connected?

Ah, you'd have to manually add it first

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...-add-a-printer
    Select Ethernet or Wired

If the printer is not found, you might try connecting it with a USB first, just to get the driver(s)

Just connect the printer to the usb port of the computer in question, and see if it will print off of the USB port. If it prints, you have a network issue that is not being resolved. Let us know what happens...

Installed via USB with same results. Click PRINT in MS Word or Adobe Acrobat and computer reacts as if the print job went through, (no error), but nothing ever prints.

Great! Now we know it is a printer issue and not a network issue. Now you need to do as Slatybart suggested. Disconnect the printer from the computer and leave it disconnected. Remove the printer from the printers...and be sure to get other printers that you aren't using either. Then from Programs and Features REMOVE any HP software that listed. Do all Windows updates and make sure the computer is updated, do a reboot, AND then goto HP and download the latest driver for your printer...and make sure to get the correct one i.e. 64 bit or 32 bit for your OS. Then follow the install procedure from HP, connect the printer via the USB port when the software directs you to, and make sure you can print from the ISB port before you take it back to the network. Let us know the outcome...

I did EXACTLY as you have instructed with the same result; the printer appears to have installed correctly via USB and simply fails to print anything. No error is ever displayed.

Another thing is 4 other computers in the house that are running windows 7, 64-bit are all able to print the printer. I had been able to print to this printer from this and computer prior to the upgrade from 7 to 10
