BIOS x4, x1, Auto, Gen3, etc, Device Manager device

I basically just have a lot of random questions to be honest.. Probably easy for a lot of you! If you could work with me just a little bit that would be so much appreciated!

    For example
    :
-BIOS help (x4,x1,auto for PCi) (Do I disable anything important in BIOS?)
-Device manager help (I know I could have half the devices.. So many system devices)
-Basic AV and Firewall questions (Am I okay just using Windows Defender and Windows Firewall?)
    -Questions about sound devices

I have been looking at these forums for some time now. I have seen a lot of very knowledgeable people in here; and that Is what made me actually Sign up and try to be active as I can in these forums. I just need someones help for a little bit with me to work with me and explain a few things; like I said I would really appreciate it! Thank-you so much!

Auto (why would you want to disable anything , what are you thinking of disabling)?
    Don't worry about it

    Hi and welcome to 10forum.
-PCIe, don't disable anything and don't change anything unless your PCIe graphic card can't set the port to x16 automatically. GPU-Z Video card GPU Information Utility can tell you which speed it's set to.
If you are overclocking using FSB you can and probably should set it's frequency manually to 100 MHz.
-I Don't get it what you meant about Device manager but everything in the computer and most active peripherals and their drivers are in there together with device descriptions. Unless you have caution marks on any of them, that means they are running right. Other system devices are mostly pseudo/ software devices that need drivers anyway. Again, if no caution marks, all is well.
    - I find Windows Defender and Firewall quite adequate for my needs. Experimented with many AVs but came back to using WD only but security augmented with Malwarebytes and occasional sweep with other anti malware programs.
-Feel free to post any questions about those and sound or any other questions in appropriate places for best results.
