Does the cable I want actually exist?

I have a tablet that has 1 micro usb slot. I can either use this for my power cable or for a micro usb to usb cable but not both at the same time (which is what I want to do).

Does anyone know if there is an adapter that would convert my 1 micro usb slot to 2 micro usb slots?

Yes, such a cable does exist, bought one from Dell when I ordered my Dell Venue 8 tablet. There's other adapters available, just have to search for OTG/OnTheGo. Another I use is StarTech UUSBOTG. It's the OTG part that is critical for tablets.

Sorry, but that's not what I'm looking for. I know I can get a micro usb to usb cable.

What I want is a micro usb to micro usb. Like the adapters you get for plugging 2 plugs into one electric socket in the home, I want to use 1 micro usb socket to plug 2 micro usb cables into.

The one I got from Dell plugs into the MicroUSB port on my tablet and provides a MicroUSB port AND a standard USB port. The power cord can use the MicroUSB port while the standard USB port can be used just as on a Desktop or Notebook computer. If needing more than 1 standard USB port a self-powered hub can be used. I've not yet seen a hub for MicroUSB devices but there are adapter kits that can use a number of different types plugs, just have to "think outside of the box" once in awhile.

That adapter in Berton's last link will work for you to be able to use the dual purpose micro USB port on your tablet to provide power and data simultaneously.

When I got one of the 1st Dell Venue 8 Pro tablets several tears ago, nothing like that was available (especially from Dell). A small cottage industry grew up from people developing and selling the necessary adapter.

Thank you, that's just what I need. And I can get it from Amazon UK which is great as I need it shipped to Greece.
