Boot from CD, how in Windows 10?

Can't work out how to boot from CD. Have changed bios boot menu and security - but no luck. I can hear the CD spinning but it always starts in Win10.

I try pressing F12, but the options that come up don't include the internal CD, just the Packard Bell HD.

Anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks

You need to go into BIOS and change the boot order so CD-ROM is listed first. On some BIOS's you can press F12 as soon as the keyboard lights up which will give you a list of devices you can boot from.

It would also help if you gave the manufacturer - (OK, you mention a Packard Bell HD :)) and model of the machine in question. It takes away some of the guesswork, and leads to more accurate answers, as does filling in your System Specs!

Are you sure the CD is bootable?

    Thanks for the messages
This is a Packard Bell iMedia iMdS2885 Desktop

I have changed the boot menu, when I try to boot from the Win7 DVD I can hear the disk spinning, I choose to boot from the DVD drive, but it freezes.

As it starts to load from the DVD it just freezes, I've tried this with 4 different Win7 installation DVDs, these have worked fine on other PCs.

I'm trying to take this PC to Win7, though it came with Win8 and was upgraded to Win10.

I have tried loading from DVD many times, and after clean install - but it always freezes.

Anyone know how to deal with this and load the Win7 disk so I can install it?

    Thank you

Are you installed in UEFI mode?
Try this, Use option 1 USB Drive - Boot from in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums The tutorial is how to boot from a USB, but it should work the same for a DVD drive.

Try it for booting from your DVD drive. It should give you a DVD option too.

Can you be certain there is nothing wrong with your DVD player? If it works on other machines, but not this one, it raises the question. Are you installed in UEFI Mode?
