External Mouse works on Laptop but not when plugged into Desktop

I have 2 machines, a laptop and a desktop, both running W10. I have a Logitech WiFi mouse I wish to use on the Desktop. This mouse works when plugged into my laptop but when I plug into the Desktop, it will not work. I have looked for possible settings I might change to make the WiFi mouse work on the desktop but can find none.

    Any ideas? TIA,
    Larry

    Hi Iturn9

When you plug in receiver, the little USB fob into Desktop do you hear the USB insertion sound?

Have you tried alternate USB ports?

Have you tried to disable the wired mouse in device manager or in control panel > Mouse.
    Turn on the wireless mouse.
    Insert the wireless mouse adapter.
If that doesn't help at this point, restart the computer.
Alt + F4, select Restart using the down arrow key on the keyboard.

EDIT: I have a Microsoft wireless mobile mouse 4000
    --- I could download the driver https://www.microsoft.com/accessorie...hspecs-connect

Can you do the same for your Logitech model?

Which Logitech mouse ? They make several kinds. Some need a wireless dongle.

If it is a Bluetooth mouse then that will likely work with a Laptop as almost all have a Wireless Card with Bluetooth.

A lot of desktops do not come with a Wireless Card and no Bluetooth.

You can add a Wireless PCI-E card or USB dongle, some maybe Bluetooth capable.

Wireless mice come with a USB dongle. A Bluetooth mouse does not, but requires Bluetooth capable hardware in the Laptop/PC.

Are these the specs for your Lenovo IdeaPad U510 laptop?
    What make/model is the desktop?
