Windows 10: Keyboard no longer waking the computer (used to work).

Keyboard no longer waking the computer (used to work).

I have the "wake the computer with this device" power management box checked (just for the keyboard, not the mouse). It always woke the computer before but for the last few days, the keyboard lights up but no screen. I have to push the Power button to wake it up. USB cable for the keyboard. Strange.

May not be relative for your system, but my Samsung laptop has the same problem. I blame it on the USB drivers, but have never been able to fix it (started shortly after Win8 came out).

Try updating chipset, storage, and USB drivers.
    Good luck!

Your computer is hibernating. Its a deeper form of sleep and harder to wake from. It doesn't save much more electricity either. Hit the windows button on the bottom left, type "control" to access control panel, hit power options, choose when to turn off the display on the left, change advanced power settings, hit the plus next to "sleep," then the plus next to hibernate. Set both options to 0 for "never." It should solve this problem.

This is unrelated but why do so many forums lock old threads? I know im necroing this thread and OP probably doesnt care anymore but the question is still relevant today. This page is one of the top search results for "keyboard and mouse cant wake computer." The reason I signed up with this forum instead of the competition was because I can still post here.
