Ive run into this same issue lately and was so scared I was going to have to start replacing parts. It started when I bought a new Razer Firefly mousepad and Razer Mamba TE mouse. I thought those 2 devices seriously screwed something up so I did a clean Windows install and used my older mouse and problem still happened. I feel better knowing its just update/driver issues.

Now is this a issue strictly for using the xbox controller wirelessly or is it happening wired too? Im using mine wirelessly. Can I use it plugged in with a micro usb and be safe or should I just avoid controller all together? I really dont like playing with M/KB as I just dont find it that comfortable. Can you all confirm that just unplugging the dongle and not using the controller has semi fixed the issue? Im typically fine playing, its when I close the game and the controller turns off that the issue happens and I have to restart my computer via the restart button.

I don't even use my Xbox One controller, it's just always plugged into my computer with the micro usb cable. So, it's not just a wireless thing. I haven't had the issue since uninstalling the update and blocking it.

Here's another fix I found elsewhere on the web: https://www.reddit.com/r/thedivision...vision/d0vtdnn

I'm still testing this one, but so far so good. I'll update this post if I find later on that the bug still occurs.

Yes, the bug has been known to affect both wired and wireless controllers. I can personally confirm this.

I removed KB3140743, all it did was make several of my USB devices show up as unrecognized. The mouse-lag persisted after disconnecting my Xbox One controller. I reinstalled the KB, and tried to update the driver for my controller, but Windows gives an error "One of the installers for this device cannot perform the installation at this time.", and the update fails.

I am having the same problem (xbox one controller/wireless dongle), i am assuming since there are frequent new releases of the KB windows update that we just keep uninstalling and blocking the most recent? So as it stands today that would be KB3140741.

I really don't recommend removing any installed updates, as it's been shown to cause problems during boot in some cases (I've personally experienced it). You can try the fix I posted from Reddit which worked for me and others
