Well i did do a clean install myself. Wonder is he has any other USB 3.0 Devices to try, flash drive another external drive. Believing chipset drivers may have something to do with this, but why the need for 2 different USB 3.0 eXtensible host controllers,Asmedia and Intel.
Maybe one is for the internal 19 pin USB Connection on the board, mine has USB 3.0 Renasas but no need for it's drivers.

One thing I just noticed here was suddenly not being able to see the digital camera and it's SD Card detected when plugged in. The Sambrent external enclosure had to be turned off first then the H drive appeared! If he has any other usb drives or devices plugged in that could be the problem there.

Either compare the driver versions in Device Manager to ones on ASUS site and make sure have all the correct updated drivers. What is more important is the ones listed under Chipset and SATA. Others like LAN, Wireless and Bluetooth you can also check. You can install Chipset it will tell you upon installation if you have latest or not and you can cancel install then as this can be part of your issue.

Me particularly i always go to the manufacturer's site when installing a new OS and for updates, i do not rely on Windows update alone. How many other ports have you tried this external drive on the back ones and the front ones ?

I would agree with the check up at the Asus support site since that is one thing they usually stay on top of! I know that from having run with Asus for several years. 10 does tend to grab 8.1 drivers while 10 drivers are now just coming up for many products.
    Friends,

My another USB 3.0 Thumb drive is working great on all ports, So I guess its the HDD that is the culprit for sure.

Apart from that, I actually always wanted to upgrade all drivers from Asus website but do not understand and gets confused always so never did it.... but now I guess its high time I learn abt it once and for all. Please can u guys take a little of your time and guide me on an separate thread which I created specifically to understand drivers here:

Generally I had to go through the Global site and then finally onto the US extension in order to get to the latest updates a good number of years ago however. I haven't actually been there is some time however in the event they changed the layout any. But they were always reliable at keeping up with things back then. I simply wanted to change brands.
