You will have to get the latest bios from the manufacturer of the motherboard and/or computer. Why is it important that you reflash the Bios?

Be very careful and absolutely sure you must flash the BIOS. I have done over hundreds of BIOS flash.
Last one I did on a HP Desktop about three weeks, it crashed the BIOS and need a motherboard replacement!

What makes you think that you have to flash your bios?

Unless you have a specific problem with the BIOS, don’t reflash it.

Generally the BIOS should only be updated if the update addresses a specific problem you are having. This would be very unusual in a laptop. If the update fails, and this can happen even if you do everything right, you would be in a very difficult situation. In some cases the only recovery is physical replacement of the BIOS chip or motherboard.

If a BIOS update really is necessary it would have to come from the computer manufacturer and must match the complete model number. Any mismatch and the update will fail.

Are you asking after a BIOS update or a fix for a BIOS update that has gone wrong?

If it's the latter: some makers have a BIOS recovery mode where you can flash from a USB drive even if the existing BIOS on the machine is too corrupt to allow the machine to boot normally. I don't whether any laptops support this. As you haven't told us what your system is, it's not possible for me to check.

This is a very vague question, so give us the details of your issue.

As for the safety, flashing a BIOS is really nothing to worry about anymore. It doesn't hurt to update, and they are usually very easy to recover in the event something goes wrong, like a power outage. Fear of BIOS updating should have died out a few years ago.

As stated above. If there is no need to then don't - the most common reason to do it is to update compatibility for new hardware, memory, processors etc.

Things have changed over the years, like DeaconFrost states.....however NEVER update within windows...I had an Asus motherboard which had a utility to do this and it bricked my computer. If you must update always update within the bios environment.

yes , get the latest bios from you motherboard manufacturers site , load it up onto a usb drive , plug it in reboot into bios find the option in bios to flash , navigate to your usb point to the file and go . Some bios wont let you flash to an earlier version so if thats what your wanting to do you may struggle
