Cannot read HDD with Windows after formatting with Mac OS

    Hi there,

after I formatted my external Hard drive with the terminal in Mac OS, I cannot read the disk with windows.
Here is the result from diskutil list:
    #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
    0: GUID_partition_scheme *251.0 GB disk0
    1: EFI EFI 209.7 MB disk0s1
    2: Apple_HFS MacOS 47.0 GB disk0s2
    3: Microsoft Reserved 16.8 MB disk0s3
4: Microsoft Basic Data BOOTCAMP 203.7 GB disk0s4
    /dev/disk1
    #: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
    0: FDisk_partition_scheme *500.1 GB disk1
    1: DOS_FAT_32 WSYSBACK 125.0 GB disk1s1
    2: DOS_FAT_32 DATENBACK 375.1 GB disk1s2

This is the error I get in Windows 10: (Enlish below)
"Das letzte USB-Gerät, das an diesen Computer angeschlossen wurde, hat nicht ordnungsgemäß funktioniert und wird von Windows nicht erkannt.
    Empfehlung:
Schließen Sie das Gerät erneut an. Es es immer noch nicht von windows erkannt wird, ist das Gerät möglicherweise nicht funktionstüchtig."
    Which means in English:
The last USB-device you plugged in this computer did not work properly and is not recognised by windows...
So I can read and write with Mac OS, but not with Windows. In the device manager of Windows, I cannot see the device either.

Does someone know a solution to this problem?

Apple uses a different file system than Windows (HFS+). Windows computers can't read Apple formatted drives by default.

You can install 3rd party programs on your Windows PC that will allow you to read Apple format drives in Windows. One of the most popular ones is MacDrive:
