Safe to remove
On 1 of 4 1809 machines, I lost the "safe to remove message" The ports are ok and the usb stick is ok because the led goes out.
Does anyone have a fix that "really" works ?
Thanks

@ken1943 -
Please check PC Settings -> System -> Notifications and Actions and ensure that the following setting (and those below it) are set to "On." Now check.
If no good, add this step:
PC Settings -> Privacy -> Background apps. Make sure that "Let Apps Run In The Background" is switched to "On."
Let us know.
Nothing seems to work.The Intel drivers are no where near what is installed and HP has nothing that I could find. Will ask on the HP forum where they hid it.
Thanks for you help
Try disabling your Emisoft AV software, see if that helps
What is the Make and Model# of your Computer or Motherboard? go to the manufactures Support/Download Drivers site type in your Make and Model# and download the Chipset Driver.
I think I am at the end. Nothing has worked. Was something that 1809 screwed up or a hardware failure.
Thanks for your help
Try these:
Right click start & choose run enter "rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll" without the quotes.Choose a drive to eject, once ejected icon should return.
Or:
Step 1. Go to > Settings > PrivacyStep 2. App Permissions > Background Apps.Toggle ‘Let apps run in the background’ switch to off. Restart computer. (action center not showing previously or new notifications)Step 3. Go back to the settings page, previously mentioned in step 1 and 2.Toggle the ‘Let apps run in the background’ switch to on, as described in Step 2.Restart once again.
