No (known) HP devices, just Epson & Samsung...

No (known) HP devices directly connected, BUT yes there is an HP network printer on the LAN.

Nope Canon printer here but do have an HP scanner.
    Hi Bastet,

Everything I've tried that seemed to fix the long delay only lasted a few days at most. The long delay has always returned so as I mentioned, I gave up and screwy Win10 wins.

Looking at your specs could be your hard drive, which is slow, not windows 10. I have an SSD takes me about 2 secs and I show no progress bar at all. Their are much faster drives available then the one you have listed. :)
On my PC it takes over 120 seconds. I have a laptop with an i7 cpu and 16 GB memory. The disk is a SSD at 128 GB.

Thanks Microsoft for stealing cpu cycles to no use. I have moved three of my other systems to Linux now because this Windows 10 crap freaks me out.

Glad to hear that Linux is working for you.

Hey! The Creators Update fixed this problem for me. Devices and Printers from Control Panel now opens instantaneously.
    Thank you MS!

    Hi TV2,

Thanks for posting that info. I've been holding off on installing the Creators Update to give it a chance for any bugs to be worked out. Seeing your success, I think I'll install it after I do the next backup of my current system.

    EDIT:
BTW, your info is rather timely since I was just thinking of getting rid of Windows 10 by doing a fresh install of my retail Windows 7. Will see how the Win10 Creators Update works out.

    Thanks again,
    mck
