I have an Epsom A810 printer, connected to desktop PC by USB.

The printer has a USB port for loading pictures to the printer from a thumb drive. Thing is, this port makes the printer show up in Disk Management and My PC as a removable drive.

But it is not a drive at all. I can't access the files on the thumb drive through the printer, so it functions as a phantom drive.

Does anyone know of a method to stop Windows from recognizing the printer as a removable drive?
Just open "My Computer" or "Computer" from the desktop, the click "View" at the top left of the window (just to the right of "File" and "Computer", and remove the check from "Hidden Items". That used to bug me too! I know it's not important, but I agree, it's annoying.

    Thank for the input.
Since I don't like the idea of hiding ALL hidden drives I have just ignored it. I gave it the drive letter W in Disk Management so now it does not interfere with drive letters for devices I actually use, like phones, cameras.... Until Windows updates to a new version and i need to go back in a give it W again.

It would be nice if we could hide devices individually.

My Epson printer has a built in card reader which showed up as a drive in This PC. I never use it so just disabled it in Device Manager.
