I had W95 beta for over a year and tried W8 since one of first alphas. BTW there's already talk about 9931, could be just days away.
9933 is currently being offered on the fast ring through WU - still errors out - you can't get it

Nah, they get to have fun testing things too

The moved PB updates into WU and they recently added the branch choice - although, a choice of 1 isn't much of a choice.

Things are in flux - 9926 was when Win10 broke away from Win8 and every other Windows.
Things will settle down in the next releases as they merge all of the stuff into one package ... then they'll break stuff again!

I think it will be great when it's RTM, but that's at least 8 months away.

They're running out of room 9331, 9332, 9333 - reminds me of Airplane the movie
Plane arriving at gate 17... gate 18... gate 19...

Maybe 9342 will be the download release - I don't have a clue.
It will work when it works, but thanks for trying.

Not that but in the past I've had lost of issues with sound blaster drivers. It seems that they rarely update them for the latest OS.
Does that mean its probably time for me to look for a newer sound card that has drivers that are win 8/10 compatible(10 maybe?)
I'd report it through the program and wait for the final release before spending any money. Win7 was good at driver, Win8 was great with drivers, and I'm reading that a lot of older devices are being resurrected with Win10 being the most the device aware. But everything will take time.

Re-reading your post, it sounds as though the driver is found when you scan, it's just a buggy transition.

Or do you have to uninstall and re-install the driver yourself?
Well; it seems like every so often; not sure what; something causes the sound to go out on my sound card. Im guessing that since this is just a tech preview of 10; that its got a lot to do with that; that and the fact that there arent drivers/software for every mfr out there on the market as of yet. And its obviously gonna take time for them to engineer/design compatible software.; I just hope I dont have to go and spend $ just to get my 5,1 surround sound from my sound card back because that is $ i really dont have at the moment; and decent sound cards like the one i have arent cheap these days. I also do have to uninstall it completely; and then rescan for hardware changes to get it to reinstall properly.

I think the builds have exceeded 10000 and with the updates at 9926 the next release should be >10000.

TP 9926 TP expires October 1, 2015 - the free upgrade is for a year afterwards - there's plenty of time to run on Win8 or Win7 until drivers for your sound card are WHQL'd and delivered though WU.
It's up to you to make sure MS is aware of your hardware and the issue.

Well yes i realize it is up to me to report the incompatibility issues; and i have been doing that with the creative applications for my sound card.
