Driver causing a BSOD, can I remove it?

Hi guys,

First off, I'd like to apologize if I may be posting in the incorrect section, as I wasn't sure what to classify this under.

I've been getting some BSODs with the same error message: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA.
I looked into the issue by examining the minidump in WinDbg, and found a driver called bcmw163a.sys causing the issue.

I would like to know if it is safe to remove this driver, and find out what the driver is.

Any help is appreciated :)

A little web searching (Bing worked better than Google, oddly enough) suggests that it's a driver for a Broadcom WiFi adapter. Got one of those?

(I would have checked your motherboard specs, but Asus makes a number of X99 boards, if that's the one in question.)

I would do a memory test - Usually page fault means bad memory ..

I was remiss in mentioning that I am using the secondary machine I use (a cruddy Alienware), my main PC (with the X99 mobo) has no issues... And it indeed, the secondary machine has a Broadcom Wireless Adapter

So what do I do then? Disable it in Device Manager?

You could disable it in the BIOS setup if you're not using it.

If you are using it, there may be better drivers available.
