Problem with Samsung Galaxy 5 viewing pictures

Problem with Samsung Galaxy 5 viewing pictures

I know the Google stopped supporting Picasa (picture editing tool) back in Windows 7 days but it ported to Windows 8 just fine so I also ported it to Windows 10. It worked just fine with pictures on my 2 hard drives and on my USB backup drive, However when I attach my Samsung Galaxy 5 via a 2.0 USB port to my PC and using Picasa I click on the first picture just fine but scrolling to the next picture jumps back to Win7(c:)/users/<mymame>/AppData/Local/Microsoft/INETCache/IE/BHVED554 and whatever picture is stored there. I tried under the Samsungs Developers Options - USB Debugging I tried both the Media device MTP and Camera (PTP) and neither seemed to work correctly. What I did notice however is that pictures on the Samsung Galaxy both the internal and Micro SD card while looking under properties showed the picture even though a jpg as a thumbnail. So it appears that when Windows 10 mounts the Samsung Galaxy 5 it mounts it different than what it sees as a disk drive. Please note that Windows 10 "photos" works just fine but I am not too crazy about its editing features and it has no facial recognition like Picasa has for aid in organizing photos.

Your Samsung uses the Android OS/Operating System and there can be issues when working with Windows. I usually transfer the pictures from my wife's into a Folder on the computer then work with them there, bypasses the differences between the OS'. Sometimes I have to use an SD card reader and have obtained a MicroSD/XD card reader for the purpose when needed.

I know that copying the pictures to my PC is a solution and I have been doing that.

However, I am seeking the same capability I had with Windows 7 using the same PC, phone, and USB cable only now under Windows 10. I am seeking clues to why Windows 7 mounted it correctly and not Windows 10 does not.

I do thank you for your quick response to my question.
