The second hard drive shows up in Device Manager and not in Disk Management most likely because it is set up as a storage pool. If this is your issue, it’s an easy fix by going to “Storage Spaces” and delete your storage pool. (Storage Spaces is located inside Control Panel>All Control Panel Items>Storage Spaces.) Your second hard drive will then show up in Disk Management.
You do know how OLD this thread is IE: Started in 2015 !!!!!!

Thank you so much for this. I have been beating my head against the wall the last 2 days trying to find out why my 2nd hdd wasn't showing up. I stumbled upon you post and it fixed it! on this old post of all places. thank you for still feeling the need to comment and give your idea of why it wouldn't be working. If you wouldn't have i would still be stuck scratching my head.
I had to make an account just to thank you.

But the real solution is to Not have it plugged in when your installing Windows 10. That goes for any other internal drives that you have.

If you have a system that has more than one internal hard drive, Windows 10 can set up one or many of the drives as a storage pool. People are then searching for their missing hard drive, they can see it in device manager but have no idea why it’s not showing in disk management. It’s really frustrating many users and they answer cannot be easily found on google. You can have the drives plugged in when installing Windows, after installation, just go to Storage Spaces and delete the storage pool if your Windows product makes one. It’s an easy fix if you have this issue.

Good one. I just re-read the entire thread to make sure I had not overlooked anything. Someone earlier had figured out the issue in November 2015 but when another person asked how they did it in December 2016, they received no reply. I laid it out for them step by step.
