    Audio Issues

So the issue I am running into is that after around 5-10 hours my sound will start to stutter and have cut outs and the only way I can fix it is to restart my PC. All of my drivers are up to date. I am using a Creative Sound Blaster Z Series soundcard and Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit.

Hi, have you tried reinstalling your drivers, even though they're the newest ones they could be corrupted. Also when did this start happening, was it when you installed new drivers or make any other change to your system?

There is also a possibility that Windows Update found "new" drivers, installed them and screwed compatibility. Reinstall latest official Creative drivers and then hide any driver updates to avoid being replaced again.

I just recently built this system and it's pretty much been around since day one.

Okay so I ran that and the only updates it shows that I can hide are Intel ones and nothing to do with sound.

There is some glitches with Creative Sound card. Currently I use X-Fi titanium and had problem with build 10240, intermittently I lost sound. What I did was to open Device Manager, disabled the sound then re-enabled then got the sound back, later on I updated the driver from Creative and so far it's been good.

Last week, I fresh installed build 10586 and got the same problem. Looking in Device Manager, the sound driver loaded by Windows Installation dated way back in Aug. 2010. Extract the driver from build 10240 dated in April, 2014 and installed it in build 10586 and it seems to fix it.

That's exactly what I'm talking about. Reinstall the official Creative driver, just in case Windows Update replaced it with generic non-working Microsoft driver.

    Thank you.
