Will a log of the drive events help?

Most of the above r looking at software problems, but if I understand your first entry it won't open by the button either. Most cd/DVDs have a small hole that u can insert a paper clip in that will allow u to open the drawer. You can try that and see if something is stuck. It really sounds like the drive may be faulty. You might also try removing it and then reinstalling. Let 10 redetect it.

One thing you can try is from the shutdown menu of Windows 10, click restart. Repeatedly press the DVD drive eject button throughout the restart process. If the DVD drive opens during the restart process, then it is likely a driver problem. If the DVD drive makes noise like it is trying to open, but doesn't, then it is likely a hardware problem.

Ok, I saw that hole earlier and thought about that, I'm gonna try it now!

If the drive doesn't open by pushing the button I really don't think it's a software issue. You can try opening it right after u power up before Windows even loads and see what happens. Did u try removing it and let Windows redetect it. You shouldn't have to open the case to do that. If it's under warranty contact Acer and get them to replace it.

Welp, my friend says that you can't take it out without touching any screws.Umm.... Last summer, I had it in a bag and fell with a bike with it.Maybe the wires got separated? Is that possible? Also, by trying to open it when booting up the laptop, do I open it with the paper clip?

you could try to boot into the bios.

and press the eject button while in bios.

also does the drive light show while the system first turns on? and does it light up when you push the eject button.

if none of those things work. then its not a window problem. the drive might have a hardware problem. and it was just random it happened in windows 10.
