Can win10 use my bluetooth headset as my microphone/speaker device?

I can get it to pair and says it is paired but it says it is disconnected in the playback and recording settings dialog box. Is it possible my devices are too old the Bluetooth dongle is BT2.0 and the headset is a MotorolaT225 hands free speakerphone for my cellphone which works fine. If they are then what headset does work with win10 out of the box?

After you have it paired, click on search and type sound. Click to open the sound settings and see if your Bluetooth is listed. You may have to make it default to work. There you can also click and test it to make sure it works.

everything is greyed out so i cant set it as default so im thinking it is a driver problem or device compatibility issue.....

Maybe Bluetooth is not working properly with Microsoft drivers. See if your device is compatible with the ITV BlueSoleil software and use that instead. But then you will lose Bluetooth compatibility to other applications that expect the Microsoft driver. I tried BlueSoleil once for my Bluetooth, it worked fine, but only via the BlueSoleil application. I could not make it work in another application, so I reverted back to Microsoft drivers.

Thanks spapakons that was the answer bluesoleil is a tremendous piece of software. Not sure if I can get my car speakerphone to work exactly the same as a normal headset though since the mic is so close to the speaker - get some feedback - guess its to be expected but at least i know its possible to use now with bluesoleil. Thanks again to you and IVT.
