No , I chnged it to ACHI just like in the Tut I used. Your right about the power on the bigger cards. Do not even think about the 980, I believe you need a 1200 or 1300 PS to run it.

Oh and on some of those GTX980's you can get by with a 600 or higher PS.....been reading a lot on gpu cards last few days. But the 980 is still to expensive for me, and that one IS overkill for what I want it for. :)
Gary why don't you try the IRST driver as stated by me here , now that you are in AHCI. What is odd maybe because of missing driver, you are missing other ones listed in IDE controller in device manager. Do you have a DVD ROM i am sure you might as this one last shown looks like what it might be, windows 10 uses a standard SATA/AHCI for those ports.
As you see on mine, second one is like only one you show now
