Having numerous issues with Realtek Audio Drivers and my Headset.

So, ever since upgrading to Windows 10, my headset has been put through hell.

I can't seem to get my mic to work no matter what I do. It shows up in my device manager, it says it's working fine, but it won't pick up a single thing I'm saying. If I rotate the jack around a little bit it makes some static noise, sometimes. I've tried updating my drivers, reverting my drivers, using Microsoft's Drivers, and nothing seems to work. I know it's not the headset, I tried it with my PS4 and it worked perfectly.

I have no clue what to do. I had it working for a few days once on the 2.79 drivers, but then out of the blue it decided to stop picking up anything I said again, and I've been trying to get it working since.

Is there anything I can do?

Hi, welcome to Ten Forums :).

    - can you check what driver version you now have- has that been simply updated by MS?
    - note if you install a different (older or newer) driver version than MS/manufacturer thinks you should have your driver will be overwritten unless you act to protect it.

Does any other microphone work for you?

I'm installing the MOBO-specific drivers from Gigabyte's website for the Z97 Gaming GT Motherboard.

I just bought another Mic, it's a wireless USB connection this time, and the mic still doesn't work. The audio is fine, but no mic functionality. So....I don't think it's the microphones.

I'm not sure what's going on.

Is the driver on the Gigabyte site a Windows 10 driver? If no, try the Realtek site driver.

Forgot to mention, the wireless USB Mic will not be using the Realtek driver or any of the Realtek hardware. That may be an issue of more than one audio device, and the wrong device being set as the source in device manager.

Hey, this is the Realtek Driver I have installed right now from Gigabyte's website.

    Pretty sure it's a Windows 10 Driver.

Also, I'm not sure about the source. I only use one at a time, and it's the only mic installed right now and the only one that shows up in device manager.
