Thanks I'll try that then. So do I install it like that from the download, or use device manager to install it please? Actually I'm not sure which driver to download from intel. I'll start a new post on that.

Ok - copied the exe file from an sd card onto the desktop. The right clicked into properties, set it to run in W7 compatibility mode and set it to run as adminstrator and saved those settings. The right clicked - run as adminstrator. Looked perfect for a minute or 2 then it crashed again with a black screen then a blue screen with an error message. Am resetting it now. I did try to work out how to install it through device manager (there were instructions with the driver) but it couldn't seem to find the file on the desktop.

I believe I need the .inf file - how do I get to that please. I went to 'have my own disk' and selected the sd card drive with the driver still on it, but it couldn't find the download on the sd card (it is there, it just didn't show up).

You probably downloaded the executable (EXE) version. Try downloading the compressed (ZIP) version instead. Then you should be able to extract the installation files to another folder. Click on the search icon and type Device Manager. Click to open it and expand Display adapters (if your card isn't there look for other devices or unknown). Right-click on your adapter and select Update drivers. Choose last option every time, until you see a Have Disk button. Click on that and browse to the folder you extracted the drivers. Then proceed with the installation. If you have difficulties, ask us again.

Thanks very much! And thanks for the reply on my other post too. I gave up and reinstalled Windows 7. I might try and upgrade this machine at a later date but would prefer to have the graphics driver rather than keep trying to install this one!
