DVD/CD-ROM not in Device Manager

    Don't know if I should start my own thread, but I'm having exactly the same problem with a new LG/Hitachi slim cd/dvd writer, model number: GP60NB60.AUAE12B

    Where exactly is this 'SATA AHCI Controller'? I can't see it in Device Manager.

    I couldn't see it because it doesn't appear in my Device Manager?
    Any idea how to fix this problem to get my cd/dvd writer recognized by EAC and Burnaware?

    I have noticed that my cd/dvd writer can be seen when I click on 'This PC' (don't know if that is a good sign), but not in Device Manager.
