Hi jaydenvo! DVD drives wear out just like any thing else. They are fairly cheap and very easy to replace.
My DVD drive reads but won't write. Looks to me like yours died. Some times you can blow them out with a can of compressed air.https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/...problems/en-us

I know this is an old post but I am having the same problem after i did the latest Windows 10 software upgrade... Can hear the disc spinning, etc but whatever I put into it is not reading. Was perfect before the upgrade... Done all the preliminary checks because that's all I know. My Lenovo came with windows 10

You could try removing the drive in Device Manager and rebooting to get Windows to reinstall it.

Thank you. I shall try to do that... Not great with tech, but I believe I can do this I find Windows 10 to be really confusing and my laptop is only just over a year old. I haven't used the disc drive often so it definitely wouldn't wear out.
