La Cie External Drive: Strange Behaviour Since Using New Power Adapter

This drive (La Cie D2 Quadra V3 3TB), worked flawlessly but the power cord got chafed through so I ordered a new one.
The one I got is from MyVolts in the Netherlands but is US version. I couldn't find the exact one at La Cie.
The drive didn't at first show up in File Explorer then after fiddling with the eSATA connection it did.
But it takes time to appear as I guess it's backed up in the Cloud by W10?
It never used to do this. Is there anything I can do to stop that long wait each time?

Looking at the Web site d2 Quadra USB 3 | LaCie Support US doesn't show it uses an HDMI connection, maybe it's eSATA?

Part of the issue may be with the loading of the eSATA drivers as to when in the boot process the port becomes active and if syncing with OneDrive is involved there will be more delay. I'd unplug/disconnect from the Internet and reboot, see if it is faster.

No quicker. If I turn off that drive however, boot time is significantly faster.

To check the new power cord, see manual page 8 (it's a pdf in the page linked above, that selects the user language). If the behaviour of the LED is okay (at least the part that depends on the power cord), it's likely the eSATA cable, that you had to fiddle with. If you don't have a replacement, maybe you can try with an USB or FW cable.

A bad data cable can produce many symptoms, including delay. A bad power cable is a lot less "creative" in what it can do, specially with mains power and specially with low consumption devices.

Thank you yes I will do all that. I’m out right now so will order a new eSATA cable. It’s the one cable out of many I don’t have 2 of.
