    Disk 1 Partition Issues

    Hi:

I am having an issue converting one of my SSD from MBR to GPT. Disk 1 simply will not convert. When I use Partition Master it comes up with a "No boot partition found on disk"

I have finished doing the latest updates on my Windows 10 Install.

On Disk 1 it used to be the boot drive, somehow during an old windows install it liked that Disk 1 over Disk 0, and this past weekend I put the Disk 0 as the boot drive on a re-install.

If I delete the System Reserved Partition on Disk 1 and reformat the Disk and re-partition the disk, will my problems go away.

I just do not want to get into a spot where I will have to do a fresh install of Windows 10.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

100mb is the minimum for an esp partition.

    Hi:

If I delete all three partitions on Disk 1 and then reformat the whole disk and then make only 2 partitions on Disk 1, will I be able to make it a GPT disk.

    Hi:

Upon further investigation I see that Disk 1 contains Primary Partitions and the 2 other disk contain Basic Data Partitions. So something needs to be done to correct this problem

Your disks are a big mess.
If you do a clean install on a drive with another drive that has Windows it will install the OS in the drive but use the drive that has Windows as the boot manager.
Main Rule to do a clean install: Detach (SATA or power cable) of ALL other drives leaving on only the target drive.

You can convert all drives to GPT, but the boot able drives (that has Windows) you must also create a EFI partition or it won't boot.

My suggestion is to do a clean install on a drive.
I suggest you build the USB Win 10 22h2 installation drive using MCT so it can boot as Legacy or UEFI.

    Reset BIOS or load defaults.
Set Disk mode to AHCI, not RAID
Select OS mode = UEFI or Select OS mode = other + UEFI (depends on BIOS).
Disable fast boot and secure boot (you can turn it on after installation)

Windows can be installed in two ways: Legacy-MBR or UEFI-GPT
To install as Legacy-MBR you must boot the installation drive as Legacy
To install as UEFI-GPT you must boot the installation drive as UEFI.

If you have a UEFI BIOS, you should install as UEFI-GPT
Detach any other drives (SATA or Power cable) from the MB.

During POST, press F8(?) to launch the boot menu. You will see two options for the USB drive. USB UEFI (Name) and USB (Name). Select USB UEFI (Name) if you want to install as UEFI-GPT or select USB (name) if you want to install as Legacy-MBR.
Go to install and delete ALL partitions on the main drive till you have one and only one unallocated space and then proceed.
If you don't want to use MS account, don't enable updates or connect to the internet during installation.

    With 3rd party software...
