HDD constant activity ON (writing to SSD)

    Hi guys.
I noticed on my laptop that HDD activity LED is blinking all the time.I ran task manager and noticed that there is constant activity on SSD (writing to SSD and some reading).
    Possible crypto malware?
How can I resolve on what is causing it and how to stop it?
It is not Win updates since I disabled them.

Have you experienced a BSOD? If not this is the wrong section.

It would greatly help if the specifications of the Laptop/Notebook were given in your My Computer. Most such computers don't have room for 2 drives so a blanket guess wouldn't be complete.

Try using What's My Computer Doing.

It will show you any processes using the disk. Remember though that NTFS is a journalling filesystem so constant read/writes are normal.

Naaah, something is eating up free space on C: drive each second, space is becoming less and less.
    What should I do?

Try using Task Manager to close the Edge processes.
The Service Host (svchost.exe) is used to host multiple service-related processes and is quite normal.

However, I suspect that most of the activity is just down to normal journaling. Unfortunately What's My Computer Doing isn't granular enough to show this.

Instead, try Lockhunter. Once installed, right-click on the drive and, from the context menu, choose What's locking this folder on the drive itself:

Lockhunter will show you a System process which, when expanded, will show you all the metadata artefacts in use from the journaling activity:

Again, this is absolutely normal behaviour and continuous.

    Hope this helps...

Post a screenshot from Lockhunter showing the processes using the drive... but don't expand any of them. Let's just see what's using the drive in case it's not just Edge.

    Hope this helps...
