Using ASRock Mobo, Should I update my BIOS?

Hello! My Windows version number is 22H2 (OS Build 19045.4170)

I'm seeking help in this thread and zbook said I should check to see if my current bios is OK or if I should upgrade it

    Open a thread: https://www.tenforums.com/general-support/

See if those using Asrock can comment on whether to use a 2019 BIOS or upgrade the BIOS: 1.7 > most up to date non-beta BIOS (Pinnacle Ridge)

    ASRock > B450M/ac
    Thanks for your time!

I don't know concrete things about your hw or sw, except that the GeForce 1060 was launched in 2016 and the game Rust "was first released in early access in December 2013 and received its full release in February 2018" (Wikipedia). But in general I flash newer final (not beta) motherboard BIOSes. I also have the latter BIOSes in two of my motherboards, that are beta, b/c only so they support their current processors.

I don't have a lot of experience with BIOSes versions either. I suppose that having them updated I've avoided any related problems. BIOSes control a lower level where there're a lot fewer options than in say a graphics driver. In a graphics driver, the maker does difficult decisions about the "interests" of many different games, but at the BIOS level it's all about fluid traffic of data among buses and their few available options.

I have a B450m/ac and I've been wanting to upgrade to the latest BIOS for a while (just want to protect myself against LOGOFail), however the BIOS says not for my CPU (Pinnacle Ridge). I've posted on the ASRock Forums over a month ago and haven't gotten any responses.

The Asrock web page you linked says specifically NOT to update the BIOSes listed if you have a Pinnacle Ridge CPU, which you do.

So no, you should NOT update your BIOS.
