Seagate 14TB hard drive not detected or files not found

    I have a Seagate 14TB Mach 2 Exos 2x14
    Uses NTFS and GPT.

Problem: It was not detected or files not found by Windows 10 Pro 22H2.
I used two different external HD to usb. Neither worked on my main Gigabyte pc nor the HP z240 SFF.

The one that brought up the drive was which I bought Sunday:
MAIWO External Hard Drive Enclosure(6Gbps) with Hub Expander

This PC shows drive 'H' but no details. It will give one of two errors when I click on 'H':
H:\ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect.
    Or
H:\ is not accessible. The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.

    Disk Management shows:
    (H:) 13039.00GB RAW
    Healthy (Basic Data Partition)

I then used MiniTools Partition Wizard which also detected it. It shows the following and when I right click to 'Explore' it shows My Computer> 14TB new (H) but no subfolders or files. The drive is 30% full so I should see many.

Question: What can I do to fix this?
Can MiniTool fix this using Recover Partition Wizard?
That is the for sale version.

Can AOMEI do so? I have not done this as I want to see if anyone else has done so and it worked.
Right click on drive> Advance> Check partition

    Results:
Stage 2: Examining file name linkage ...
    A disk read error occurredc0000483
Error detected in index $I30 for file 5.
Error detected in index $I30 for file 5.

    5 reparse records processed.
An unspecified error occurred (696e647863686b2e 1490).

Chkdsk has completed, but some errors were found in the partition.
You could use AOMEI Partition Assistant to fix it.

I've seen issues when putting a bare drive in an External USB drive case, usually with Disk Management first needing to Initialize the drive then partitioning it [need at least one] followed by formatting. A drive letter doesn't have to be assigned, usually USB drives just take the next available letter. File Explorer can't see the drive if not sporting a letter. USB drives usually identify as removable.

According to this page the 14TB with GPT shouldn't be an issue:

Thanks for the reply. I had a drive that gave me the message to 'Initialize'. I was lucky in that I plugged it into another HD to usb device and into another pc that let me see the files which I then copied off. The seagate is another issue.

The partition shows 30% full so the files are there.

I am verifying now and it says 8 damaged sectors and at 7% completed so far.
This is before the repair part. So it will be a while!

Update: Now at 14%... be done in a day or two

    DiskGenius now shows all files

DiskGenius now shows all files. Thanks for the TIP to install it.
I can also copy the files from the program.
"This PC" still cannot open the drive.
I see that the files on the Seagate 14TB drive are the same as the other Seagate I have so I will be formatting the one that had the bad sectors.
I also bought some rubber feet to lay flat the external case I have the drive in and the other seagate one that stands vertical.
A simply flop over is what started the problem. Kerplop...

What I bought that worked where the SIIG box and the USB to SATA device did not detect the drive. I bought 2 of them:
MAIWO External Hard Drive Enclosure(6Gbps) with Hub Expander for 3.5 2.5 Inch SATA SSD HDD USB C to SATA III with UASP, 1 Port USB C Hub/2 Port USB A 10Gbps Hub

The new 14TB WD drive I bought to replace the Seagate bad sector one works in the SIIG but it drops out of detection by Windows a few times on Tuesday till I turned off and on again, maybe it cannot handle 14TB drives well so I bought the replacement above.

You should clean the drive and then format
Open a CMD window as administrator and type:

    diskpart
list disk (it will list all drives. Identify the USB drive number)
select disk n (replace n by the USB drive number obtained with list disk)
    clean
    convert gpt
    create part primary
    select part 1
format fs=ntfs (this will take a very long time. Do it overnight)
    assign
    exit (to exit diskpart)

A rotating disk has a gyroscopic effect. When you rotate the axle (change from vertical to horizontal etc) it bends the disk to try to stay on same plane and the moving arm touch the disk surface.
NEVER, ever, move the drive when in use.

As you have a desktop, may I ask why don't you install on it? It will be safer and faster.
