Take the 980 pro with heatsink, the m.2 gen4s tend to run hotter than the gen3s. With or without heatsink it's the same.
"Take the 980 pro with heatsink", "With or without heatsink it's the same.", these 2 sentences seems contradicting? If "With or without heatsink it's the same." why not buy without heatsink because without heatsink 980 pro is cheaper?

It's marketing to sell without heatsink for laptops and to give the buyer the choice to choose their heatsink.
There is a risk of overheating with gen4 and gen5.

Did you mean 980 pro must be installed without heatsink if it is installed in a laptop?

For laptops, the Samsung heatsink is not suitable, it is too thick, there are other thinner heat sinks for laptops. 10€ more expensive with heat sink on Amazon in my country, it's not important, you're asking yourself too many questions, take with heat sink to have peace of mind.
