Hitachi LG Slim portable DVD reader/writer not recognized

I have had this problem with my dvd writer the last one and a half year
I had gotten it because i got free pc cd/dvd rom games and i wanted to try them out
I got to install some of the games but after a few days i wanted to install rest of the games but my laptop or my home pc didnt recognize my dvd reader anymore for some reason
The reader gets power by usb micro cable what has a barrel for some reason and starts to spin the disk but wont show up anywhere in my computer i have tried everything and it does not still work so i went here to ask you guys

I hope someone can help me and resolve this issue!

Which model LG drive? I got a new one Tuesday in Wal*Mart to replace one that was literally falling apart, less than $30USD.

It has a USB 2 cable and works in either the standard USB 2 or USB 3 ports, the drive end is a small USB plug either Mini-A or Mini-B, no round plug.

The box shows it works with Mac, Windows 10, TV Connectivity, M Disc and AC Adapter Free. Apparently the M Disc needs the software that is on the included disc.

I have been Ripping audio CDs this morning using Windows 11 Media Player, sound is choppy during that Ripping but pausing the play makes the rip faster.

Mine don't have cables with 2 standard USB-A plugs either [I have an older model I keep in my car].

One thing to check in File Explorer, Options is the settings for drives, be sure the empty drive setting is as desired. Mine is set to hide empty drives but I don't use Win10 as much since getting into Win11.

Have you tried different cables or the drive in a different computer? For diagnostics I have a Cable to Go kit with all sorts of plugs but am going to need updating as it doesn't have the newer USB-C adapter.

I got only 2 cables of that old micro usb the one what came with it and a other one from a old canon camera charger cable (both with a barrel)
And i meant that the cable could have had a splitter to 2 full usb on some models

I have the settings like that on the picture
