Samsung T7 portable briefly flashes red

I bought a new Samsung T7 1TB portable, but when I eject the device through the USB icon on the taskbar, the device's indicator light briefly flashes red before it goes dark.

Is this something to be concerned about?

    Thanks

What does its user guide have to say on the subject?

I suspect that's just the power down indicator.

USB connection provide both data flow and power to a device. The ejection process disconnects the power, the red light is probably just that momentary indication of device connected but no power. The light goes out when the disconnection is complete by Windows.

I actually have two of these drives. One does it, the other one doesn't.

It only happens on eject. Works fine, otherwise.

Small differences in plug design/manufacturing tolerances may lead to triggering of the not connected properly light. Even in the same product.
    No worries.

I don't have one, but from what I can find with Google the red light indicates that power is connected, but the data lines are not. If it's on permanently it's meant to indicate that you may not have fully plugged it in. Seems this one is seeing the data lines being disconnected on eject slightly ahead of the power being shut down, minor timing differences I'd expect. I wouldn't worry about it.

I bought it directly from Samsung's own store, so unless they're selling their own fakes, then I'd doubt it.

    That's good to know, thanks.
