Is a shortcut to printer maintenance possible?

    Win 10 22H2 version 19045.3930
    Epson SL-D560

Pretty much a straightforward question. Its easy enough to create a desktop shortcut to the printer itself - just go to Devices & Printers, drag the the printer icon to the desktop, and create a shortcut there. Then I can navigate to Printer Properties > Maintenance Tab > Maintenance Tool

However, what I would like to do is have a shortcut that directly opens the printer's maintenance tool, and I'm wondering if that is possible. It might need some clever scripting, but I'm up for trying.

Is the maintenance a separate program (is there an entry in the start menu)? You could shortcut to that.

EDIT Mind you, I'd be looking for another printer if maintenance is so frequent it needs a shortcut ...

This is a commercial photo printer. The staff are required to carry out a nozzle check every morning before production.

I have been using just a shortcut to the print icon, but there have been a few errors where they have clicked the wrong thing. I'm just trying to cut down on the possibility for errors - you know, trying to them to where they need to be without any opportunity to take the wrong path.

I will have a look to see if there is a separate program. Our other printers have separate maintenance tools, but this one does no appear to have one.

Look in the installation directory. There might be an executable, for... maintenance or something.

Run the maintenance program, then check in the Task Manager running processes list

..and once you've identified the exe file responsible try running that directly to see if that launches maintenance correctly.

If so, create a shortcut to it.

If not, you can use Autohotkey (free) to navigate tabs in dialogues by sending characters to the open dialogue.
(It's a powerful tool which can
    - create hotkeys
    - manipulate existing windows
    - be used to create entire programs
    etc).

Yup, did that.....and there it was... an exe file buried a couple of folders deep.

Created a short cut on the desktop, and bingo - opens the maintenance tool!

    Many thanks
