Unable to see Sata drives since new processor

    Hi all,

    System details -
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
    Version 10.0.19045 Build 19045
System Manufacturer Micro-Star International Co., Ltd.
    System Model MS-7C56
    Processor AMD Ryzen 5 5600G

    M.2
    SSD 665P 1TB M.2 PCIe 3.0x4
    WD Blue SN550 500GB NVME m.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 SSD (OS Drive)

    Sata -
    6TB western Digital - WD6003FRYZ
    1TB western Digital - WD1003FZEX
    1 TB Toshiba - Z34E5TJNS WK7

I put in a new AMD processor in to my system (Ryzen 5600G) , went from Ryzen 5 3600, since putting this chip in, I was unable to my Sata drives in Windows.

the M.2 are showing fine in windows but i can not get the sata one to show at all

I have looked in disk manager and cant see anything
I have redone my chipset drivers
I have reinstalled windows (full wipe , no saved files)
Looked for outdated drivers and no install is available for it

I have moved the bios from Bios from UEFI to CSM and that didnt help (bare in mind it was working fine on UEFI before i put the chip in)

I have done a try basically everything. i can see it it moaning about the serial ATA controller, ive tried getting drivers off here but i cant see to find the right ones.

I Hope some one can help me.

    @kurupter
    go back to UEFI
I don't know much about AMD, but is it possible that the BIOS switched to RAID as a default entry?

    Hi kurupter,

Just a stab in the dark, but does the drive in question show up in Diskpart when you list volumes? Please post a screenshot.

    Kind regards,

I have an AMD Phenom II 2 cpu on a Gigabyte USB3 motherboard. The BIOS on the motherboard has, to me, a weird setting for the boot drive of AHCI/RAID, no choice between either. I had 2 drives in the case, installing Windows automatically set up as RAID. Removing one drive broke the boot process, reinstalled Windows.

You have done a full wipe reinstallation of Windows, but it is certainly not a clean install. Try a clean install.

It was a full clean wipe, I did the option of deleting all files in the windows reset pc option, from the windows drive, there isn't another option, unless you have a different way?

Make USB installation media with Microsoft's creation tool.

When you installed new CPU did you reset the bios so it's all clear by removing battery as it may have wrong details
