New partition is not in BIOS

    My desktop machine:
    Acer aspire T3 715
    CPU Intel Core i5-6400
    DDR4-SDRAM 8GB 2133MHz
    GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950
    SSD 128GB running Windows 10 Home 64b. 22H2
    One 3.5" HDD D-drive capacity 1.0TB

A new partition is made by Windows Disk Manager on the D-drive as stated above, and the new partition is only 100GB of the free space 450GB, and is initialized as G-drive. But there no such a new drive in the BIOS.

There is no name or edition of the BIOS

What seems to be the issue, please?

    Thanks.

    If I understand you correctly...
Only the physical drives show in the BIOS.
    "Partitions" won't show.

    Thank you, Mr. Ghot.
No. You do not understand me correctly. There is nothing, not even a trace of the new partition in the BIOS. Every word and letter in the boot option section is the same as it was before adding the new partition.

As @Ghot, partitions do not show in bios.

Drive letters have no meaning at bios level - they are assigned at boot time.

All the bios sees is physical drives.
Is there any part of that sentence you do not understand?

New partition is not in BIOS-673-2.jpg

    Mr. Cereberus, thank you.

Here is the photo of the Boot Options of the BIOS. Where do you suggestion that I can find the new partition, the G: drive?

Think of a hard drive or an SSD, as a... large room.
A "partition" is like a... "divider" within that room.
You can have more than one "divider" (partition), in that room.

BUT... the only thing the BIOS can "see" is the room (hard drive or SSD).
The BIOS can't "see" the "dividers" (partitions).

The BIOS "can" see the Windows Boot Manager.
So if you were to... install Windows on your G: "partition", the BIOS would then "see" the Windows Boot Manager.

We just "call" them "drive" letters. But really they are not "drive" letters, but are "partition" letters.

For example, this is a picture of MY File Explorer...

New partition is not in BIOS-00000-hard-drives.png

The BIOS can only see the physical "drives" (RED boxes). It can't see all the "partitions" (BLUE boxes).
I have Windows installed on the C:\ partition. The BIOS can NOT see the C:\ partition, but it CAN see the Windows Boot Manager, which is ON the C:\ partition.

The Windows Boot Manager has a... special pass to allow IT to show in the BIOS.

NOTE: You can have a physical drive with no "partitions".
The BIOS will see the physical drive, but it will NOT see whatever "letter" you gave it.

Groan - you cannot see partitions in Bios. We have told you that several times now!

Your computer has two different pieces of "software".
One is Windows, and the other is the BIOS (firmware).

BIOS stands for "Basic Input Output System".
The BIOS lives on a chip on your motherboard.
The BIOSes main job is to act as a translator. It "translates" hardware, into something Windows can understand.

If it wasn't for the BIOS, your computer would think it was... a door-stop or something.
The BIOS looks at your hardware and says things to Windows, like...
"Hey Windows... this thing here, is a hard drive. This other thing is a video card". Etc., etc., etc.

If not for the BIOS... Windows would look at your computer parts and say something like...
"What's all that stuff? Why are all these things in this metal box? What's it all for?"

If you made a primary parition and made it bootable then it may show in the boot devices but it must be bootable

BIOS does the interface between the drive and the OS. It doesn't show any partition on the drive.
When the OS takes care of the boot sequence it assign drive letters to the some partitions.

If the partition has a drive letter, you can see it under Explorer.
To see all partitions on the drive, run Disk Manager (C:\Windows\System32\diskmgmt.msc)
